The Company That Invented Service Software

In 1980, we invented field service management software to help contractors run their HVAC businesses.

Our company only grew from there, expanding the number of industries we operate in and accumulating more than 40,000 users.

We built the ideal product from the ground up and made it possible for service businesses to streamline their operations.

FieldEdge is brought to you by Xplor, the first global platform integrating software, payments, and commerce-enabling services to help businesses thrive. Visit xplortechnologies.com to learn more about how Xplor’s products supercharge success.

The Inventors Of Market-Leading Field Service Management Software

The Inventors Of Market-Leading Field Service Management Software

Our original founders, George and Glenn Slay were HVAC contractors and entrepreneurs. As HVAC contractors, George & Glenn were out in the field servicing customers constantly. They felt that there could be a better way to organize their office and field operations. Seeking a solution, the Slay brothers started the process of creating software that would help them manage their expanding business.

The Slay brothers established Coastal Computer Corporation in 1980 and introduced field service management software called Theos to the industry. Coastal Computer Corporation introduced the first electronic dispatch board as well as the first integration with the accounting system, QuickBooks. As the pioneers of field service solutions, the company achieved many firsts and became a well-known force in the industry.
