COVID-19 and Beyond

By Paulynn Opurum | June 29, 2020 | Blog, Coronavirus (COVID-19)

The COVID-19 pandemic has changed the way businesses will operate in the future. As the situation continues to evolve, it’s essential to prepare for the coming months. Here are three important things to keep in mind for running your business during and after COVID-19.

More Money Will Be Spent on Home Services

Regardless of everything that is going on in our environment, there is still business to be had. During this time, essential services are needed as homeowners are spending more time at home and working from home. Therefore, they are using their plumbing more. Along with that, comes plumbing issues that may arise later down the line.

In addition, those working from home now have extra cash. They’re not spending money on gas to commute to work. Their summer vacations have changed, as theme parks, cruises, and trips have all been canceled. As a result, they’re more likely to spend extra money on their plumbing services and home improvement.

Marketing Communication During COVID-19

This is not the time to stay silent

Many companies have withdrawn from the market due to the pandemic or cut their marketing altogether. Therefore, use this time to amp up your marketing communication. Engage with your audience, find new ways of reaching out through social media, or try different search engine marketing approaches. Outline the steps that you’ll be taking to protect them now and in the future.

According to Forbes, Scott Jones, CEO of 123 Internet Group, stated that “We have seen a real spike during the last few weeks from companies wishing to create or update websites, launch new e-commerce channels and create social media campaigns focused on home-workers and a real focus on using influencers and SEO to reach new audiences.”

Service Companies Should Offer Financing

This is a financially trying time for many people. As mentioned before, many are spending more time at home and are more likely to spend money on home services. However, people are dealing with many things at once, and finances shouldn’t come in the way of work that needs to be done.

Be sure to identify a source of financing that you can offer to your customers. If there’s a service that a customer needs, but is too expensive for them, financing can help alleviate the financial stress of getting the job done. In return, it shows that you’re willing to help them and meet them where they are.
