Top HVAC Trade Shows to Attend in 2022

In 2022, many HVAC trade shows will return to lively in-person events. These events are a great opportunity to network, learn about the latest technology and attend workshops to help grow your HVAC business!

AHR Expo

When: January 31 – February 2, 2022

This in-person expo will be held in the sprawling Las Vegas Convention Center. A massive facility that will be packed to the brim with the latest HVAC tech, gear and trends.

ASHRAE Winter Conference (U.S.)

When: January 29 – February 2, 2022

Consider this the calmer companion to the more rambunctious AHR HVAC trade show at the convention center. The ASHRAE Winter Conference is a personal development paradise.

With instructor-led training that include full-day seminars, half-day trainings, and quick 2-hour development sessions, you’ll be sure to find something that piques your interest.

IIAR 2022 Natural Refrigeration Conference & Expo

When: March 6 – 9, 2022

Where: Savannah, GA (Venue TBD)

While the specific venue has yet to be determined, the IIAR conference and expo are shaping up to offer huge value to attendees.

The conference boasts numerous technical training sessions on various topics, which all offer PDH points (Personal Development Hours).

In total, this conference is offering 29 PDH credits. These credits can be used for attendees to use towards their professional engineer licensing.

Also, the exposition floor will showcase exhibitors presenting new methods and products. Plus, this event serves as a great opportunity for attendees to network.

HVAC Excellence Conference

When: March 21 – 23, 2022

The in-person portion of this conference will be held in Vegas, but continued virtual training will be offered throughout the year. The online portion of the event will be held through the HVACR Learning Network.

AEE East Energy Conference & Expo

When: March 23 – 24, 2022

Recently, AEE (Association of Energy Engineers) East announced their opening keynote speaker for the 2022 Energy Conference & Expo. This year, Bill Kent, Executive Director of the Association of Energy Engineers, will kick off the conference.

He’ll provide insights on the past year, learnings from the pandemic, and where he sees the industry heading in 2022 and beyond.

Also, this conference offers five different learning tracks for attendees to continue their education:

  • Data Analytics and Energy Services
  • Advanced Energy & Renewable Solutions

ACCA 2022 Conference & Expo

When: March 28 – 30, 2022

Focusing on helping HVAC contractors grow their businesses, ACCA’s 2022 conference includes growth-minded training sessions as well as an incredible lineup of speakers.

Gerry O’Brion, the founder of What Big Brands Know, is slated to be the keynote speaker. Gerry’s knowledge and passion for helping small and medium-sized businesses win customers “in a sea of sameness” is sure to make his keynote a game-changer for all attendees.

This event is scheduled to be held in-person, in St. Louis at the tail end of Q1 2022.

Also, ACCA is hosting an expo. The show floor for this HVAC trade show is a great place to meet with exhibitors and vendors to help enhance your business offerings. Plus, this event is prime recruiting and networking territory.

2022 National Home Performance Conference

When: April 11 – 14, 2022

Where: Omni Nashville Hotel, 250 5th Avenue S, Nashville, TN 37203

Website: Building Performance Association

This conference offers four days of educational content, networking and industry updates. Exciting details surrounding this event have yet to be announced.

Aside from the HVAC trade show, there will be educational sessions and workshops. The organizers have declared the educational sessions offered can be used as Continuing Education Units (CEUs).

FFHMT 2022

When: June 8 – 10, 2022

Where: Niagara Falls, Canada

This FFHMT (Fluid Flow, Heat and Mass Transfer) conference is geared toward those interested in HVAC engineering/science behind heat transfer. This 9th annual conference strives to make it the leading annual conference on fluid flow and heat transfer. The FFHMT gathers world renowned scholars in the field to present advances in the field and collaborate on new information. 

The conference is both in person and virtual this year.

13th International Industrial Ventilation Conference for Contaminant Control

When: June 22 – 24, 2022

Where: Sheraton Centre Toronto Hotel, 123 Queen Street W, Toronto, ON M5H 2M9, Canada

This conference happens only once every three years and is coming off of a recent postponement. So, the Ventilation 2022 will now be held right before the ASHRAE 2022 annual conference in Toronto.

This year’s conference revolves around the theme of “leading edge industrial ventilation technologies for a low-carbon environment.” For key issues and topics to be covered, refer to ASHRAE’s website covering all the details of this conference.

As an added benefit, an additional knowledge track on Global Research Initiatives will also be incorporated into the conference’s learnings. Plus, as of this writing, the organizers are still accepting submissions for consideration to be included in this conference.

ASHRAE 2022 Annual Conference (Canada)

When: June 25 – 29, 2022

For our friends up north, ASHRAE will hold their 2022 Annual Conference in Toronto, Canada in late June. As a companion to the 13th International Industrial Ventilation Conference for Contaminant Control, this smaller conference offers eight learning tracks. Refer to ASHRAE’s site for a breakdown of each, and the contact info for each track’s chairperson.

This conference is expected to draw quite a crowd. An overflow block of rooms is reserved at the Hilton across the street, so be sure to grab your ticket soon!

ICBVAC 2022

When: December 9 – 10, 2022

Where: New York City (Venue TBD)

The International Conference on Building Ventilation and Air Conditioning conference deviates from the standard HVAC trade show, as it positions itself for researchers, academic scientists and students.

So, if you’ve been working on any high-level groundbreaking concepts, and you wish to have your paper peer-reviewed, this is your chance. Plus, you possibly could have your paper included in the conference proceedings.
